The Science Department at St. Peter Chanel High School is committed to providing a strong foundation for students in the areas of Scientific Principals and Critical Thinking. Our goal is to prepare students to think critically in the modern world. Through exposure to a variety of courses, students can examine new scientific theories and technologies to keep pace with the scientific evolution of the world around them.
Our Science program includes the following required courses: Grade 9: Science Survey; Honors Biology (by Department Approval) or Health Grade 10: Honors Biology or Biology Grade 11: Honors Chemistry or Chemistry Grade 12: Physics or Anatomy and Physiology
The science department at St. Peter Chanel provides students with many interesting educational opportunities. Two members of the Staff run their own websites that allows students to download PowerPoint presentations and notes. The biology lab is equipped with a thermal cycler, used to amplify DNA samples and the Physics Lab and Chemistry labs utilize CBL technology to computerize many of the Laboratory experiments.
