What is the St. Peter Chanel Fund?
The St. Peter Chanel Fund is the annual fund campaign used to fund scholarships for St. Peter Chanel students. Most private secondary schools and institutions of higher education have an annual fund appeal that relies on the generous support of donors. Doesn’t tuition pay for the expenses? Not quite. In order for St. Peter Chanel to make Catholic education affordable, the School Advisory Board approves a reasonable tuition that best serves our families while meeting a high percentage of the operating budget. The difference between tuition and the cost of educating each student is approximately $2,000. To make up this difference, St. Peter Chanel depends on four additional sources of income for operations: donations to the St. Peter Chanel Fund; interest from endowment; limited government funding; and proceeds from special events like the Night of Hope Gala and the Father Gilbride Golf Outing. How can my gift be maximized? If available, the Human Resource Department at your place of employment can tell you how to participate in your company’s matching gift program. Think of it this way: Can you aside $2 a week to support St. Peter Chanel’s mission to prepare young men and women to be Christian leaders in a global environment? One less stop at the local coffee house per week will provide a $100 gift to the Firebird Fund. A small sacrifice on your part, combined with the gifts of others, will provide the St. Peter Chanel experience to many young people. It also provides you with a tax deduction.
