OHIO BOARD OF REGENTS STANDARDS The Ohio College Board of Regents standards are not mandatory for all Ohio colleges at the present time; however, many of the colleges in Ohio have accepted their standards. The Board of Regents standards are as follows: four credits in English, three credits in mathematics including geometry and algebra 2, three credits in science, three credits in social studies, and three credits in a foreign language. Most colleges have an additional requirement of one credit in fine arts. The colleges that have adopted these standards will not accept a student into their four-year college programs unless s/he has met the Board of Regents standards. Colleges will offer these courses (at the student’s expense) so students will be able to complete the necessary requirements before entrance into their four-year college
