The Computer Technology Department at St. Peter Chanel High School offers courses ranging from software operation to computer network systems. All incoming freshmen are required to take Computer Literacy 1. This is a semester long course that offers a basic introduction to internet exploration, network design, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs. This course is required for graduation and should be taken in the freshman year. Computer Literacy II is offered in the course catalogue. This is a semester long course that offers a more in-depth examination of Microsoft Excel, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, and DreamWeaver. Students will learn basic photoediting skills and web site design principles. Students with digital cameras are strongly encouraged to bring their cameras to class and make use of their own resources. This course is an excellent compliment for students involved with Flame, Invictus, or WCHS. Prerequisites: Computer Literacy I and instructor approval.
